Real & Measurable Organizational Shifts

A hard truth is that while diversity trainings and “food, festivals, and fun” events have saturated the DE&I landscape, their lack of substance makes meaningful change impossible. At HCG we focus exclusively on ESJ to ensure a truly diverse and inclusive environment because we know D&I are the byproducts of good ESJ work. While many see dynamics of inequity as intractable, we know that change is possible and trust that our clients, with the appropriate level of training and support, can achieve incredible things.

While this may sound academic, it is simply describing the way we start with the big picture in order to more fully explain what is happening in organizations’ and individuals’ day-to-day. A comment that might seem like a simple slight is understood more accurately when considering the historic context of that comment and its connection to systems of oppression and privilege.
